I enjoyed the lecture a lot: expanding borders of possibilities, overcoming difficulties, dedicating oneself to a certain goal – all of this deserves true respect.
Sergey Ryazanskiy is by far one of the most memorable speakers at our events. His speeches affect listeners of any background and any position. He always adapts his speech to the topic of the programme, sharing his knowledge and experience relevant to this or that particular request of ours.
Additionally we would like to mention his openness, the way he is involved with the crowd, his interaction and readiness to answer any question, he would even spend extra time if needed, until every question is answered. Without a doubt, a person whom is so knowledgeable and passionate about his occupation, he can't help but “infect” attendees of our programmes with his motivation.
In my childhood, almost every boy wanted to become an astronaut and for me personally, an ASTRONAUT is a synonym to an Olympic god.
When I listened to Sergey Ryazansky, I tried to grasp every word. And after the speech, when my colleagues and I managed to ask him several questions - I envied myself. After all, it is a childhood dream - to talk, even just briefly, with a real ASTRONAUT! This is my personal impression.
As for the speech itself - I was flabbergasted at how an ordinary person can become an astronaut, but once Sergey shared his uneasy way to the first space flight, everything fell into place.
They may seem ordinary, but their character is made of steel. The fact that a biologist became the crew commander, speaks of an unbending will and an amazing intellect. While it is the case that he was eventually allowed to fly to space is just a part of the pattern - the result of desire, a goal and titanic work. And of course, the story about passing 115 exams was very memorable. When you try to fit this story upon yourself, you doubt if you could go through such obstacles.
Many thanks to the organizers for such a presentation and the opportunity to communicate with Sergey.
